Merino wool care 101.

Laundry day is looking extra cozy. At Rothy’s, we’re all about making machine-washable styles that are built to last—and our merino wool shoes are no different.

While you can pop them in the washing machine, there are a few different ways that these silhouettes like to clean up. Here’s how to care for each of your feel-good favorites whenever they need a quick refresh.

MERINO SLIPPERS

(The Slipper, The Scuff Slipper and The Men’s Slipper)

  1. Slip out sherpa insoles.
  2. Pop slippers & insoles into the washing machine.
  3. Use cold water, mild detergent and the delicate cycle.
  4. No heat, please—always let your slippers and insoles air dry.
  5. As wool is a delicate natural fiber, we suggest using a shoe tree when drying (this helps your shoe keep its shape).

Pro tip: Weigh down the insoles with your shoes to prevent curling while they dry.

MERINO BOOTS

(The Lug Boot, The Tall Lug Boot and The Chukka Boot)

  1. We recommend spot cleaning these styles to preserve their water-resistant treatment.
  2. Insoles can be removed and machine washed using cold water, mild detergent and the delicate cycle.
  3. No heat, please—always air dry.

Pro tip: Weight down the insoles with your shoes to prevent curling while they dry.

    MERINO SNEAKERS

    (The RS01 Sneaker, The Monty)

    1. Slip out contoured footbed.
    2. Tie shoelaces together (if you’d like to keep things neat).
    3. Toss shoes and footbed into the washing machine.
    4. Use cold water, mild detergent and let air dry.
    5. As wool is a delicate natural fiber, we suggest using a shoe tree when drying.
    6. Avoid heat, please. Never put them in the dryer.

Pro tip: Weigh down the insoles with your shoes to prevent curling while they dry.

    MERINO CLOGS

    (The Casual Clog)

    1. Pop shoes into the washing machine.
    2. Use cold water, mild detergent and the delicate cycle.
    3. As wool is a delicate natural fiber, we suggest using a shoe tree when drying.
    4. No heat, please. Always let your clogs air dry.

There you have it. Now you can stay fresh on your feet in super soft staples.
